The Rental Registration and Inspection Ordinance (RRIO) is a recently established law pertaining to rental properties within the city of Seattle. As of 2014, landlords with rental properties in Seattle ranging from single-family homes to large apartment buildings are required to register their properties with Seattle’s Department of Planning and Development to ensure that they conform to basic housing and safety standards.
